9 unique Airbnb properties worth staying in Nassau the Bahamas.
October 2023 marked 12 years since I first signed up as an Airbnb photographer, and it has been an amazing experience all the way.
With hundreds of properties shot for Airbnb and its various brands, such as Airbnb Luxe and Airbnb Beyond, I learned a lot from each host and even made friends with many of them.
I must admit, I may not always remember everyone’s name, but I do remember their properties and, of course, their personalities. Its this combination of a nice, clean property and a host that you don’t mind being around.
Here are my top 9 unique Airbnb properties in Nassau, The Bahamas, that I had the privilege to capture as an Airbnb photographer.
1 – Airbnb listing – Cozy Corner
HOST – Odette
This unit is so close to the airport you can almost smell the aviation fuel.
That’s not a bad thing because there is so much near the airport to enjoy and the neighborhood is peaceful.
The layout of the property is simple and straight to the point. It lies at the western end of New Providence close to the airport but also very close to some of the best beaches on the island.
Nearby sites, amenities, food and all around things to do are
- If you like to exercise there is a nearby gym and crossfit gym you can attend
- Brazillian Jujitsu
- Love Beach
- Jaws Beach
- Orange hill beach
- The Famous Nesbitts restaurant
- Tropical conch salad hang out

2 – Airbnb listing – Private Entry Suite
Host – Island Escapes Vacation Rental
During my early years as a new real estate photographer and even newer Airbnb photographer, I received a message through the Airbnb platform to photography a studio unit off west bay street Nassau along st. Alban drive.
Not a problem I accepted and went to the location and met the host Kendra. She was unsure what to expect and I myself was unsure what to expect with the unit.
We chatted a bit before the session and again afterwards as she discussed her plans for the property and renting on Airbnb.
We spoke for a while and she was very comfortable to talk with and had a great personality fit for hosting. A few year past and I was contacted again and shot another unit as she discussed that first photo session.
The properties were clean, well maintained and all amenities were available. If I were traveling by myself or with my spouse this is a great location and a comfortable Airbnb rental to stay.

3 – Airbnb listing – Serene Downtown Artist Loft
HOST – Selena
As an artist in the discipline of photography, there was a time when I rubbed shoulders with other artist in the Bahamas.
Artist of the medium of video, painting, sculpting and other forms were all apart of a unique community of mixed artist.
This loft was pure joy to photograph just knowing that some of the greatest artist in the Bahamas once used this space to bring forth their artistic vision is well worth the trip.
The loft is cozy and the yard area is filled with various artwork. From time to time artist events are held at the location but separate from the loft so you get full access to rub shoulders with local artist of all genres.
The location is even more exciting. Located within the confines of the city of Downtown Nassau you are never far from night life and exciting adventures.
Tours are abundant and its a 5 minute walk to the famous Junkanoo beach.
Serene downtown artist loft is by far the most unique property I had ever photographed, perhaps I am biased being an artist myself and an Airbnb photographer.

4 – Airbnb listing – Affordable Bahamas Getaway # 1
HOST – Evie
They say you never forget how people treat you and with this Airbnb listing I could never forget Evie.
This was one of my first Airbnb photography jobs as an Airbnb photographer and I was shocked to learn that a property was in the heart of a Bahamian community.
I have to admit I was curious to see how this was pulled off. Its a story I could never forget and I have told it to many person over the years.
In fact the visit to this property gave me a better understanding of the potential of Airbnb rentals and how it fits in to the Bahamian Lifestyle.
The host were very easy going but knowledgeable about Bahamian history and things to do. They made me feel comfortable and welcomed to be on the property.
Since this first session I have photographed a few other of their units and each time I felt like I was around friends.
Located in a popular community of Fox Hill, this is by far the best unit I have ever photographed where I would stay just to hang out with the host in their environment.

5 – Airbnb listing – Luxurious 5BR Estate Near Atlantis & Beach
HOST – Scott
This photo was the header on my page for a very long time. This Property opened my eyes to possibilities of real estate and Airbnb photography techniques.
I have to admit this was not a job posted by Airbnb but instead the owners called me directly to photograph the property, however it is listed on the Airbnb website and I had the skills as a Airbnb photographer.
This is more of the Airbnb Luxe edition, and it is well worth it.
The outdoor living alone is well worth the stay. The pool area was built for relaxation or a small party. The house itself is spacious and laid out very well.
Locals tend to use this property for small weddings as they can get dressed and have the ceremony and reception all in one place.

6 – Airbnb photographer listing – Poolside Villa
Silk Cotton Villas is one of those places that you will visit and keep on visiting because of its unique amenities and as an Airbnb photographer, there are great villas to shoot.
This boast 2 pools, a restaurant and bar area and a number of villas throughout the entire property.
This is a location that is ideal for large extended families as everyone can have their own villa all within an enclosed property.
This particular villa was one of the first villas I shot for a listing on Airbnb and how I was able to get a better view of the entire property.
The host is not just one person but a team that works together to keep the property and each unit clean and all the guest happy.
Unlike most vacation rentals you really would not have to leave the property as they provide food and drinks on the property.
Although you are less than a 8 minute walk from Montagu beach where there are local events happening every so often and the oldest fort, a historic site Fort Montagu, on the island.
The villas are spacious and cleaned by an amazing cleaning team as is the property. If you prefer the hotel service but in your own villa, this is the place to be.

7 – Airbnb photographer listing – Love Nest
This was a shocker to me and I was so excited to photograph this location. This property was left abandoned for years, it was an eye sore until the new owner purchased it and transformed it into this gorgeous property on Airbnb.
The property is low maintenance and secured with a gate and wall. Each unit is modernized and as I mentioned pretty much new.
The location is more inland away from the beaches but in a nice quiet neighborhood.
There are not much touristic things to do and a car is a must as there isn’t much things nearby to walk to within a 5-10 minute distance.
With a vehicle however you can live like the locals and enjoy the amenities and sights with in driving distance such as Goodman’s Bay beach, a beach frequented by locals and not know to many tourist.
Food at the nearby Bahamar hotel and cable beach strip filled with lots to see and do.
The unit is great for persons who do not wish to be bothered by tourist trap locations and do want all the hussle and bustle of tourist life.

8 – Airbnb photographer listing – Charming Townhouse
This was one of my earlier properties shot for Airbnb. There were guidelines I had to adhere to when photographing units and this was the first time I implemented those guidelines.
At this time Airbnb took the editing capabilities away from the photographers and utilized their own editors, to keep the look of the website more consistent.
I remember and liked this property due to its location. It was a shot walk to the beach, fish fry and not to far from downtown.
It was close to the property hosted by Island Escapes hence it is close to the Fish Fry, Junkanoo beach and not too far from downtown Nassau.
The neighborhood is quiet, a typical Bahamian area so you will see the locals in the area tending to their properties and living their life.
I do remember the layout of the listing was simple and something that was just comfortable about it.
The interior design was easy going and functional that staying there you will not need for anything.

9 – Airbnb listing – Private and Peaceful Cottage
Peach and quiet… those are the words that came to mind when I visited this property for an Airbnb photography session.
It is located on the southern side of New Providence which is a stark difference from the northern side of the island in many ways.
One major difference is that the southern side of the island is extremely quiet and peaceful, another is that the beaches are a bit different. There is not much sand and the sand is a but coarser than on the northern side.
This property reminded me of being almost off grid. The yard is very spacious and filled with fruit trees and gardens with vegetables.
The host advised that the wanted to offer a mini retreat for a few guest at a time and by the looks of things they were headed in the right direction.
The Airbnb listing was rather different. A single story building in the shape of a tent or yurt but build up to Bahamian code with blocks.
The inside was an open concept allowing a 360 view in the rounded unit.
There was access to a pool and the beach and of course being so far on the southern side of the island there was not many places to visit but there is a restaurant nearby within a 3 minute walking distance.

Airbnb and Vacation Rentals in the Bahamas have grown over the years. I have seen many types of buildings and some tend to stand out more than others.
